Dr Pepper hails from Waco, Texas dating back to its introduction in 1885. It is the oldest major soda in existence and is known for its unique taste of 23 flavors. Like many other sodas that followed, Dr Pepper was created by a pharmacist. His name was Charles Alderton who created the soft drink at Morrison’s Old Corner Drug Store. Dr Pepper was originally called a “Waco” by customers who first ordered the drink at the pharmacy. The name was later changed by the owner of the pharmacy, Morrison, to Dr Pepper. It is unknown how Morrison truly came up with the name.
